It never rains but it pours! I'll be on live radio again on Friday 2 December, this time on BBC Radio 3's 'In Tune' with my trio, promoting our gig on 3 December at King's Place. The programme goes out between 4.30 and 6.30 in the afternoon. Another first.

A lifelong ambition to be granted on Tuesday 15 November - an appearance on Woman's Hour! Cor anglais player Alison Teale asked me to arrange my tune 'Bebop Tango' for cor anglais and piano. She has recorded it on a CD, appropriately entitled 'Cor!', which she'll be promoting on the programme. Perhaps it should be re-titled BBCbop tango? Tune in some time after 10am to hear the fun.

'For me the most enjoyable was the first in the programme The Art of
Touch, in which Siobhan Davies’ choreography included a delightful
mixture of solos, duets and group pieces, set off stunningly by the solo harpsichord of David Gordon (playing Matteo Fargion and Domenico Scarlatti’s music)' The Public Reviews review of Rambert Dance Company at Theatre Royal, Brighton

Another new project: the Bushey Band will give its first concert on 5 December at St James's, not surprisingly in Bushey. We hope this will be the start of a community-based project with professional players, covering baroque music, but also more contemporary forms of music, presented in the same concert. In addition we plan to give workshops in schools and perhaps other local venues.

The launch of 'The David Gordon Trio Speaks Latin!' at a one-day South American festival, celebrating the independence of some of its nations from Spanish rule, took place in St Martin in the Fields church. The music focuses not only on samba, milonga etc but also on the songs of some of the great singer/songwriters from that part of the world - Victor Jara, Jorge Cafrune, Simon Diaz, Mercedes Sosa - some of whom paid for the powerful and challenging nature of their songs with their lives. See a clip from the event here.

New project with violinist Adam Summerhayes:

Here's what we say about it:
The lightning skills of two virtuoso performers combine, as the ultra-modern vibrancy of the electric fiddle sparks off the anciently funky sound of the harpsichord. An unlikely but inspired union across the ages.
The equivalent of putting a rocket engine into a Morris Minor, the supercharged harpsichord mixes with the most contemporary of
electric fiddles in a soundscape where flangers, distortion and live looping blend seamlessly with sounds that have cast a spell over listeners for centuries.
Their all-original set is a mixture of celtic, rock, blues, klezmer, a bit of jazz, hints of Hendrix, medieval pop tunes with some searingly beautiful melodies thrown in.
This is not like anything anyone has heard before: both a connoisseur's synthesis and an instantly accessible, energy-filled toe-tapping evening.
